Picture Books in Progress

We are steaming ahead with our picture books.  So far we have braistormed, drafted, edited and re-worked them. We made an illustration plan, and now we are illustrators and publishers.

Matariki Celebrations

We read the story Seven Stars of Matariki by Toni Rollerston. In our art we are flying our kite at night in the wind, our kite will fly away to make the 7th star, can you see the wind gusts?  Come into the class to see the rest of our beautiful art.

Sugar in Food

Mrs Robb came to talk to us about being Label Detectives.





Mia learnt that Cocoa Pops has more than 15g (which is our recommended amount).

 Neerav found that cartoon characters on boxes of cereal means they will have more sugar in it.

Tanya found out that Powerade has the same amount of sugar as 12 chocolate chip cookies.

We had our first week of Teach the Teacher

Making stress balls

Vera was so organised with all her equipment to make stress balls.  She showed us a video clip with the instructions, we are now working as groups to make the stress balls.  She has lots of tips to make this easy.

This morning Ray and Ashton introduced to Room 14 and 11 our new Osmo kits, we all got to have a go using the Number, Word, Tangram, Newton and Masterpiece

Joe's Hammerhead - Shark Bait :)

Joe's family caught a hammerhead shark.  We got to look at his gills; where he/she breathes oxygen.  We also dicussed that sharks have their babies live, not as an egg.
