You may choose one other class member to be your assistant on the day.  You may use props and costumes for your presentation.  If you need to type up anything remember to do it on Google docs or Slides.

Your presentation should take no longer than 15 minutes.

Editing Glasses

We started using our editing glasses today.  These glasses help us see where we need capital letters and full stops.  They also help us find our words we are unsure of in the dictionary.

We are Learning Our 6 x Tables

We all know the words now and we sound great, test me at home!

Lyrics:

VERSE1:
when you use multiplication

and count by 6 don't get confused, and lose your patience

no no

see those 6’s can be tricky

but if you just sing it with me

you’ll be counting up to 60

know your 6’s in a jiffy

they say

PRECHORUS:

cmon try it

sing it it, don’t be quiet

i wanna hear it from the highest

top of mountains, to the sky

they’re singing

CHORUS:

oh I think that I found a way to count by 6

12, 18, 24, 30 and 36

4-2, 48, 54 and then 60

get up out of your seat and sing it with me!

VERSE2:

6 x 2, you just double

you get 12, and 6 x 3 is no trouble

18

6 X 4, count one more

6, 12, 18, 24

6 x 5, you gotta try

you get that 3-oh my!

they say

PRECHORUS:

cmon try it

sing it it, don’t be quiet

i wanna hear it from the highest

top of mountains, to the sky

they’re singing

CHORUS:

oh I think that I found a way to count by 6

12, 18, 24, 30 and 36

4-2, 48, 54 and then 60

get up out of your seat and sing it with me!

VERSE3:

so if you try 6 x 6

well the answers 36

did I mention 6 x 7

gets you 42 and next is…

8 x 6, gets you 48 and if…

you try to multiply a 6 and 9

then 5-4’s what you’re gonna find

CHORUS:

oh I think that I found a way to count by 6

12, 18, 24, 30 and 36

4-2, 48, 54 and then 60

get up out of your seat and sing it with me!

Joe's Hammerhead - Shark Bait :)

Joe's family caught a hammerhead shark.  We got to look at his gills; where he/she breathes oxygen.  We also dicussed that sharks have their babies live, not as an egg.

Our Butterfly Hatched

This morning our butterfly hatched, we watched it come out of the chrysalis and start to dry out its wings.  They have doubled in size!

Thursday 10 March 2016

Kiwi Sport with Mrs Grant

Every Thursday we have Kiwi Sport with Mrs Grant, she calls us Team 14 because we are learning to work as a team.

Dehydrated Fruit

We are dehydrating fruit, Thomas and Joe told us this means; we are taking the moisture out of the fruit, this will make it last longer as the water is what makes fruit rot.  At lunchtime tomorrow we get to taste our dried fruit, yum!

Monarch Butterfly Time Lapse

We watched this time lapse video of a caterpillar going through metamorphosis.  We were amazed by how the whole butterfly could fit in there.  Thomas' caterpillars all went missing, he thinks they were eaten by wasps; they prey on juicy catterpillars.

Vera's Chrysalis

This morning Vera shared with us about her chrysalis, she has brought one to school so we can all see it hatch into a beautiful butterfly.  Catterpillars go through metamorphisis like we learnt about when the tadpoles visited.  Vera told us that when the chrysalis goes black then the butterfly is about ready to hatch, we can't wait!
