Measurement
As a class we also worked out that there are 4 cups in a litre because if you add 250 mls together 4 times it will equal 1 litre, we could also say 250mls multiplied by 4.

Weeding & Weird Worms
Also, before morning tea we explored the native bush walk. We identified the native trees, but also discovered some pest plants too.
After our break it was time to analyse our lunchboxes; We asked ourselves, "After I've eaten everything what will be left for the worm bin, compost, recycling or landfill?" The Enviro Stars had nothing at all for the landfill. Well done them.
In the afternoon we listened to "Diary of a Worm" and weeded the edible gardens. We also fed the soil with worm tea from the worm farm.
Here's what we thought about our day:
"I learnt gardening is fun." Chanel
"Worms have an important job." Isabelle
"We're learning to take care of the environment." Vera
"We've been pulling out weeds, cause they're not supposed to be there; they'll take space and nutrients from our veges." Mia
"I liked weeding. I learnt white flatworms eat earthworms." Ben
"Touching things is fun no matter what it is ... not poo!" Tom

Growth Mindset Growth
Reciprocal Reading
We are leading our own reading. We each get to have a turn to be a leader, predictor, questioner, clarifyier, and summariser. We are having lots of interesting discussions about the texts we are reading.

My Class Like Living in Boxes
We have been busy designing an Olympic Village out of boxes. We drew plans from a bird's eye view, our village looks quite different from these plans. All week we have been working in our boxes. I have seen more co-operation this week than on any other project we have done this year.
When designing our village we still had to keep practical class function in mind. We needed to have two fire exits from the room and I wanted mat space where we could all gather as a team for learning.
